Flinders University, Australia

Flinders is everything a modern university should be - progressive and dynamic yet still friendly and accessible. It offers a vibrant and stimulating environment in which to work or study and have a long-held reputation as the "students' university".

Flinders is committed to innovation, excellence and equity in all that we do and are particularly proud of our range of special access schemes that encourage and support students from non-traditional backgrounds.

It offers more than 160 undergraduate and postgraduate courses, as well as higher degree research supervision across all disciplines. Many courses use new information and communication technologies to supplement face-to-face teaching and provide flexible options.

International students make up 10% of our on-campus student population and we also offer a number of offshore programs.

Flinders has a high research profile and consistently rank among Australia's top universities on a per capita basis for research spending and for the citation of our work in professional journals. There is a strong emphasis on collaboration between disciplines.

At Flinders University it is possible to enroll in these different academic programs:

Undergraduate degrees / diplomas
Most undergraduate courses are offered as first degrees and require no previous tertiary study. Combined degree programs are available.

Honours programs
Flinders also offers a comprehensive range of Honours programs for students who demonstrate academic excellence in their studies. For more information please visit: www.flinders.edu.au/students/future/honours.progs.htm.

Graduate-entry undergraduate degrees
Graduate-entry degrees require you to already hold an undergraduate qualification. They normally take less years of study than a first degree. Note: Commonwealth supported places (HECS-Help) are available for all of our Graduate-entry degrees. Education and Nursing Graduate Entry courses are considered National Priorities making the student contribution amount of the Commonwealth Supported Places less than other courses.

Postgraduate courses
Graduate certificates, graduate diplomas and masters degrees can be completed by coursework.

Research higher degrees
Research higher degrees (doctorate or masters degrees) are awarded primarily on the basis of a research thesis.

External study
Some postgraduate and graduate-entry courses can be studied off-campus, in total or in part, through distance education.

Single topics
If you do not wish to be admitted to a full course of study you may apply to enrol for one or more topics as a non-award student.

Offshore programs
Flinders offers some programs offshore, in partnership with institutions in the host countries.
